Volunteering - get involved

Young or old - there are plenty of ways that you can become more involved with the conservation of Northamptonshire's countryside and heritage.

Our Country Parks and Pocket Parks scheme provide a range of opportunities for you to become involved in volunteering. As a volunteer you can take part in many different activities depending on your interests and abilities.

Country Park Volunteers

Help maintain our Country Parks - your chance to learn new skills, experience conservation work on different sites and benefit the environment.

Countryside conservation work such as tree planting, hedge-laying and access improvements are popular.

Some volunteers are involved in the day to day management of a country park. Its up to you just how much, or how little, you wish to be involved.

We would like to hear from anyone who would like to take an active part in looking after our countryside.

There are a number of country parks and other countryside sites in Northamptonshire that are not managed by the county council. For details of these please contact the local district or borough authority

Pocket Park Helpers

Local volunteers manage our Pocket Parks. There are hundreds of conservation projects to become involved with and many social events to enjoy.

To find out about helping at your local Pocket Park or setting up a new one, please visit the Pocket Parks website.
