Registration services get thumbs up

100% of people asked about Northamptonshire County Council’s registration services have rated the overall service they received as good or excellent.

Customers were asked about their experiences across the full range of services provided such as registration of births, marriages, deaths and a variety of ceremonies which take place across the seven county register offices together with numerous licensed ceremony venues.

Questionnaires were given out from November 2008 to January 2009, with reply-paid envelopes included for those customers who preferred to take them away.   Over 500 people responded.

Results included:

  • 97% of people rated their ability to make an appointment at a convenient time and place as good or excellent.
  • 100% of people rated the service provided by staff during an appointment as good or excellent.
  • With regard to ceremonies, 98% of people rated their ability to organise a convenient time as good or excellent.
  • 100% of people rated the service they received when making initial contact with registration services regarding a ceremony as good or excellent.
  • 100% of people rated the overall service they had received for either ceremonies or appointments as good or excellent.

County councillor for customer and communities Andre Gonzalez de Savage said: “These are great results and demonstrate the excellent service staff within registration services provide to the people of Northamptonshire day after day, often having to deal with sensitive or difficult issues."
