Q: Does Northamptonshire have a sustainable waste strategy?
A: Northamptonshire's Joint Waste Management Strategy was formally agreed and adopted by all eight councils in the County in October 2002. The County, District and Borough Councils have worked in partnership to develop the joint waste strategy, which will guide the development of household waste collection and disposal in Northamptonshire for the next 20 years. Q: I want to be a tree warden - where do I start?
A: If you are interested in becoming a local Tree Warden please contact your local Parish Council who should also be able to inform you of other Tree Wardens within the parish. Your details will then be forwarded onto the Landscape Officer (scheme co-ordinator) at the County Council. Q: What facilities are there in Northamptonshire to recycle/dispose of household waste?
A: Our recycling centres provide a service for the public to bring household waste, garden waste, recyclables and other items such as unwanted furniture and white goods for disposal, reuse and recycling. A: The district and borough councils are Waste Collection Authorities and have the responsibility of collecting waste and recyclables from people's homes.
Northamptonshire County Council is the Waste Disposal Authority and has the responsibility of disposing of household waste created in Northamptonshire.
