Roade Community Orchestra

Roade Community Orchestra was founded in 2002 to enable players of all ages and abilities to enjoy playing a wide variety of music together. The repertoire includes Strauss waltzes, pieces by the Beatles, Ennio Morricone and a variety of film and show tunes ranging from Pirates of the Caribbean to Alice in Wonderland.  Hub logo

The musical director of the RCO is Ian Riley who is well a well-known local musician and teacher.

Joining the RCO is an ideal way of returning to playing for those who may have played in their youth and who are looking to widen their experience and regain confidence in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. The orchestra also welcomes younger people and those who have taken up instruments as adults.

The orchestra holds at least two concerts each year and also plays at local charitable events when invited to do so.

Roade Community Orchestra will support NMEH by:

  • Providing regular rehearsals which are open to all interested members of the community
  • Giving members of the orchestra the opportunity to take part in regular performances
  • Giving members of the community the opportunity to participate in and listen to live music
