What is the Shared Lives Service?
Shared Lives is a service aimed at adults with a range of complex needs, including learning and physical disabilitibies. It provides customers with full-time, personalised support within the homes of professional carers, ensuring that they receive the help they need within the comforts of a family home.
We want to make sure that our service promotes independence and ensures the wellbeing and safety of our customers. As such, all Shared Lives Carers are carefully assessed, trained, supported and continuously monitored.
Regular monitoring visits are undertaken by a representative of the Shared Lives team to make sure that the service the customer receives is of consistently good standard and is right for them.
Matching our customers to the right home is an essential part of what we do. If there are very specific requirements we can create a targeted recruitment campaign to find that special person who can provide the right kind of care for you.
Short Breaks and Holidays
Short-term options are available that offer respite to those who provide care to loved ones. The service works in two ways:
- Our staff can provide respite by coming into the home to take over for short periods.
- We also offer short breaks and holidays away from the family home. The service is flexible to ensure that the experience is everything you want it to be.
Either of these can be provided on their own or as part of a selection of our services.
