Community-based testing centres

COVID-19 community testing is a locally-led asymptomatic testing service set up to test people without COVID-19 symptoms (asymptomatic) in Northamptonshire using lateral flow testing. The aim of testing people who do not have COVID-19 symptoms is to reduce transmission of COVID-19 in the community.

Remember! You must book a confirmatory PCR test if you test positive using a lateral flow device.

Who is the community test for?

These sites are for anyone over the age of 16 wishing to access regular testing.

What happens if you test positive?

You should receive notification of your result around 30 minutes after taking the test. If your test is positive you will be legally required to self-isolate. You should return home immediately and begin your self-isolation. If you need any support during this time to collect food, medication or other essentials you can contact NHS Responders or our Covid Support team.

From 30 March 2021, anyone who has had a positive result with an LFD test will be encouraged to take a follow-up PCR.

This means that, if you have a positive LFD test and then a negative PCR within 48 hours of this first positive you will no longer legally need to isolate and you and your contacts will receive messages informing you of this.
