RADAR key scheme
RADAR (disability network) has a National Key scheme whereby a special lock can be fitted to a toilet door and only open using a RADAR key. It is designed for people who may have an immediate need to use a toilet whilst out and about.
If the toilet is inside a building, a RADAR key should always be available from staff, but if the toilet stands alone, you may need your own RADAR key to gain access to the facility
For further information on how to obtain a key and the location of RADAR-accessible toilets, see the RADAR website:
Changing places are disabled toilets with extra features and more space to meet the needs of people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, as well as
other serious impairments such as spinal injuries, muscular dystrophy,
multiple sclerosis or an acquired brain injury.
