Brixworth Nursery Farm is a purpose-built life skills resource centre that provides high-quality day opportunities for adults with learning disabilities.
The centre is situated in the Northamptonshire countryside overlooking Pitsford Reservoir.
Brixworth Nursery farm is set within two acres of grounds. It has commercial polytunnels, an animal husbandry unit, and extensive vegetable beds. In addition to offering horticulture and animal husbandry sessions, the outdoor areas provide plenty of space. Brixworth Nursery Farm can cater for up to 30 adults with learning disabilities each day.
Groups are small, person-centred, and generally consist of between 3 and 5 clients to each staff-member.
The centre's aim is to help all their clients achieve their full potential in a supportive and therapeutic environment.
Clients are funded in a number of ways. These include directly by Social Services, through their own Direct Payments, or by customers choosing to use part of their ‘In Control’ individual budget. The centre also have clients who are privately-funded.
