Northamptonshire Police - Keep Safe Scheme

Type of service:
Adulthood
Address:
Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, East House, Force Headquarters, Wootton Hall, Northampton, Northamptonshire NN4 0JQ
Service description:

The Keep Safe Card is for anyone in Northamptonshire with a learning disability, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or any other disability that could make them vulnerable when out and about.

Users who sign up to the scheme are given a Keep Safe Card, which they can carry with them whenever they are out and about. The card is designed to make people more aware of their personal safety, to encourage the reporting of crimes (especially hate crime), and to encourage people to seek help if they need it.

The Keep Safe Card also helps those providing assistance (such as shopkeepers, librarians and the police) to access support for the card-holder, and how to make them feel safer.

When a person is accepted onto the scheme, they will be sent a welcome pack. If they ever need support when they're out and about, they can present their Keep Safe Card at one of the 'Keep Safe Places.'
