Disability Rights UK is a UK pan-disability charity which was set up with the aim of representing the needs and expectations of disabled people in the UK.
Disability Rights UK campaign in parliament on behalf of all disabled people in areas including:
- Increasing opportunities in education and employment
- Changing attitudes to disability
- Independent living – getting a life
Disability Rights UK also produce guides and factsheets that provide basic information about benefits, tax credits, social care, and other disability-related issues for claimants and advisers.
They sell the RADAR accessible toilet key, and the leading guide to benefits and rights – the Disability Rights Handbook. These can be purchased from their online shop.
Disability Rights UK was formed through a unification of Disability Alliance, the Royal Association for Disability and Rehabilitation (RADAR), and the National Centre for Independent Living. Disability Rights UK is a registered charity (no. 1138585).
