The Kingswood Children's Centre and Community Nursery is a satellite nursery provision led by Pen Green senior staff and governors.
The indoor and outdoor environments provide safe (and emotionally containing) spaces and high-quality learning experiences. The staff will observe and play alongside the children to support them with their learning and development - giving the children the opportunity to play and socialise with their peers. The staff are also able to book the use of shared spaces within the Kingswood Children’s Centre including a Sensory Room and Water Room.
Kingswood has a minibus (driven by a qualified minibus driver). This means the children have opportunities to visit Pen Green and use the facilities (such as the Water Therapy Room, the Soft Play Room, the Beach, the Discovery area, and the Snoezelen).
Kingswood has a multi-disciplinary staff team that includes staff with backgrounds in Early Years and Family Support. The staff within the nursery are qualified to Level 3 as a minimum. All nursery staff will use the early years foundation stage (EYFS) to support them with children’s learning and development.
Corby Children's Centre Services Referral
Parents can refer themselves to the Children’s Centre, or a professional might make a referral on their behalf. Referral forms (Word 245KB) can be returned to any Corby Children’s Centre reception or emailed to CorbyChildrenCentres@northamptonshire.gov.uk.
Extra Help for Families
You may also be able to take advantage of a range of services including parenting courses, family learning groups, early learning activities, and one-to-one family support. If you think you might benefit from these ‘extra help’ services, please speak to your health visitor, midwife, family support worker, or social worker.
Dedicated SEND Services:
- Little Sparkles - Wednesdays (10am-11.30am)
A small drop-in group specifically for children aged under 5 with additional needs and their carers. This small, friendly group enables families to access the centre's fully-equipped Sensory Room, and activities in their Family Room. Led by members of the SEND team, this group gives families the chance to share their experiences, and learn from one another. Staff can also offer guidance on how to access other agencies or services.
All Children's Centres are now closed. If your family usually receives support from a Social Worker, please contact them directly (or the Duty Team).
