Carer’s Credit is a National Insurance (NI) credit towards your State Pension. You can claim it if you’re not making any NI contributions because of your caring role.
It means you can take on caring responsibilities without it affecting your State Pension.
To get Carer’s Credit you must be aged 16 or over, under the State Pension age, and caring for at least one person (for at least 20 hours a week).
