In October 2018, the Community Teams for Learning Disability, the Intensive Support Team and the Specialist and Complex Learning Disability team started operating as a single team at two bases: one in Northampton at Newland House and the other in Kettering at the Carey Suite in St Mary's Hospital and changed their names to Northamptonshire Learning Disability Support Service.

Community Teams for Learning Disabilities (CTPLDs)
The CTPLDs provide specialist healthcare service for adults who have a learning disability (IQ below 70) and health need that requires input. They aim to support people with learning disabilities and related health needs to lead happier, healthier, and more fulfilling lives.

Intensive Support Team (Tel: 01536 452149)
The IST provides community assessment and treatment for adults with learning disabilities experiencing mental ill health or behaviour that challenges.

Inpatients Respite (Tel: 01604 588657)
A short breaks service is offered (at 1 Willow Close in Northampton) for adults who have learning disabilities and associated complex health needs. It operates 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.

Opportunities for You (Tel: 01536 452300 or 07717 767224)
The team's 'Opportunities for You' service offers individual tailored packages of care for children and adults.
