Happy Faces Day Care offers nursery education and care for children from the age of 2 years, up until they start school. It is a caring, high-quality, safe, and stimulating environment.

They offer nursery placements and out-of-school care ('Early Birds' and 'Late Owls') for children attending DSLV school with a walking bus. Happy Faces Day Care also provide holiday care for children aged 3 to 14 years, with an additional four places for 2 year-olds.

Opening Times

The setting is open 50 weeks per-year. Opening times are 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday throughout the year (except for polling days and bank holidays). They close for the 2-week Christmas and New Year break.


  • Early Birds (7-8.45am) or Late Owls (3-6pm): £6 per session
    Breakfasts are provided before 7.45am

  • Nursery Morning Session (8.45–11.45am): £10

  • Nursery Afternoon Session (12noon–3pm): £10

  • School Holiday Care: £3 per-hour or £20 per-day

Funding Options 

There are a number of funding options to help parents/carers with childcare costs.

  • Childcare Vouchers. Childcare vouchers are one of the ways in which employers can help their staff with the cost. We are registered with many work childcare voucher schemes.

  • Tax Credits are provided by the Government to help Parents/Carers with cost of childcare. The amount available through tax credits is dependent on individual circumstances. Go to to see if you are eligible

  • Care to Learn - If you are under 20 years old and in education, the Care to Learn scheme can help with childcare costs whilst you study.

  • Nursery Education Grant (also known as Free Education) is available from the term following your child’s third birthday. Should your child be entitled to 2-year-old funding this will commence either from the term after your child turns 2 years (i.e., a child whose birthday is in January is entitled to the free entitlement the term commencing April). Your child may also eligible for 2-year-old funding if they: 

    • are under a child protection plan (Section 47)
    • are a child in need (Section 17)
    • have higher special needs and disabilities (SEND), as evidenced by the early years descriptors and high needs block.

Frequently Asked Questions: Staff ratio. We are a nurturing environment which prides ourselves on a high level of care with above ratio of staffing. Qualifications. Managers are level 5, all staff are level 3 and above. Ages of staff. We believe in a good balance of staff. Ours are 18 years to 60 years which therefore offer a wealth of experience and knowledge complemented with the vitality and enthusiasm of youth. How can customers access your service?
