Service description:

Youth Works Northamptonshire is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) that delivers education and support services to the young people of Northamptonshire. They also provide counselling services.

Parents and Carers

Youth Works’ Counselling for parents and carers provides an opportunity to talk about problems and feelings in a confidential environment. Their counsellors are trained to listen with empathy, to help clients deal with any negative thoughts and feelings, and to provide guidance in resolving problems. Counsellors use a range of approaches, including person-centred counselling and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).

Systemic Family Therapy is a 10-week programme aimed at families who will benefit from working through issues together in a confidential/therapeutic environment. It focuses not only on individuals in the family but the relationships and interactions between the family members.

Triple P parent course online.s

Youthworks CIC have been commissioned by the Health services to support those parents that are currently on the neurodiversity waiting list awaiting an appointment with community paediatricians for a diagnosis of ASD/ADHD.

They have seen a huge increase in recent years of children and young people being referred into the pathway and are offering the Triple P parent course online. This will be backed up by support from Youthworks with a dedicated family worker who will encourage and offer support to parents to complete the online programme. Referrals can be made by professionals working with famiies and by parents themselves.

The criteria is for those that are experiencing social, emotional, behavioural type needs and require support with parenting, are already on the pathway or to negate a referral to the pathway. They are offering the 0-12 programme and the teen programme.

Please note, dependent on individual circumstances, some of these interventions are free whilst others will incur a charge.

Children and Young People

Youth Works offer free one-to-one counselling for local children and young people who have a need for more intensive involvement. Their counsellors use a range of approaches (including the person-centred approach) in order to meet individual needs.

Please note, dependent on individual circumstances, some of these interventions are free whilst others will incur a charge.
