Kettering Training Services (KTS) is an alternative to 6th Form or college where young people can study in a supportive environment.
Study Programme (for 16-19 year-olds)
The 'Study Programme' is a 3 day per week, 24-week course, personalised to each student, with small groups and 1 to 1 support to study:
- Employability skills
- Functional skills maths
- Functional skills English
- Personal development
- Confidence building
- Careers support and guidance
Work experience arrangments can be made if needed.
Apprenticeships (for ages 16+)
Apprenticeships are for ambitious people of all ages who want develop skills, knowledge, and behaviours in their chosen workplace and sector. They offer employers the opportunity to attract new talent or to offer progression to up-skill and develop their existing workforce.
An apprenticeship is first and foremost a job, and comes with substantial training and the development of transferable skills. For existing staff, there needs to be clear evidence of new learning and development within their role or a new job role. Most of the training is on-the-job ,and there is a requirement to complete 20% off-the-job training which is developing new skills and knowledge.
KTS offer the following apprenticeship standards:
- Business Administrator Level 3
- Customer Service Practitioner Level 2
- Customer Service Specialist Level 3
- Public Service Operational Delivery Officer Level 3
- Print Technician Level 3
