The Special Needs Index (SNIX) is an electronic database of information about young people aged 0 to 25 who have a learning or physical disability or sensory impairment and who live in Northamptonshire.
The database only includes information about disabled children that parents or carers supply to us voluntarily. We do not include children on the database without parental consent.
What is the purpose of SNIX?
The SNIX database helps us to plan services for children with special educational needs and disabilities.
We compile a newsletter for all those registered with SNIX which provides information about special educational needs and disability services, resources, training, early years, groups, clubs and activities on a regular basis.
Who will have access to my child's information?
Statistical information will be provided to the Disabled Children's Commissioning Group for a variety of purposes, in particular to identify gaps in service provision. (Information provided for planning purposes will never identify individual children.)
The SNIX registration updates your child's existing local authority record and is completed by the Local Offer Team.

The SNIX newsletter comes out three times a year and provides news, events and supporting information.
Professionals who would like to be sent an electronic version of SNIX each time, please contact the Local Offer team and you can be added to the distribution list.

Adverts in SNIX cost from £100 for quarter of a page, increasing proportionately for larger sizes and with a social media campaign. Art and design can be provided.
The article deadline for the next SNIX newsletter is September 2021.
