Courses for parents and carers

SEND Support Service offer a range of virtual courses and workshops run by our practitoners to help empower parents to feel able to understand their child's Special Educational Need (SEN) and gain understanding of how to effectively support that need.

SEND Support Service have now successfully converted all courses and workshops to be delivered virtually. It gives parents and carers flexibility to be able to attend whilst still delivering effective support and advice.

Consultation via telephone or video call

1 hour session per family

What the consultation will include:

This is a one hour consultation for the parents or carers of children or young people who wish to discuss matters relating to puberty. Puberty and adolescence can be a challenging time for young people and for those who care for them. Communicating information relating to the changes in one’s body, how to keeps one’s self safe and how to understand the sometimes tricky ‘do’s and don’ts’ of being a teenager can be difficult for a parent or a carer. In this session we aim to share resources and information on how to approach these topics with your child and to discuss any specific concerns or worries that you may have about your child’s physical, social or sexual development.
