Rates for the early years single formula funding for 2020 to 2021 are published on the
early years website.
The early years budgets shown by setting are indicative based on the last three terms claims. Please take a copy of the budget tool statement for your setting and update the hours with your own forecasts to improve the accuracy of your estimated budget for 2020 to 2021.
2020 to 2021 Special Schools Budgets
The Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) budget for special schools is published below. This includes an indicative figure for the top up. The top up shown is the RAS based top up, which is updated twice per year, based on September (Autumn Update) and January (Spring Update) returns. The place funding shown is fixed and does not change once set.
Primary, Secondary School, and Academy Formula Budgets for 2020 to 2021
Northamptonshire Schools Formula Funding follows the National Funding Formula. The rates applied are those within the Governments published
National Funding Formula Documents for 2020 to 2021 (see table on page 11 of National funding formula for schools and high needs: 2020 to 2021) with the local area cost adjustment of 1.00328 applied to the rates. Details on the formula funding for 2020 to 2021, how it is calculated and the data on which it is based, can be found on the GOV.UK website in an

School level, local Northamptonshire funding formula allocations for 2020 to 2021:
The fixed formula budgets for 2020 to 21 have been approved by the ESFA and are published here as an excel based look up tool. The password is North_568. Indicative budgets will be published at a later date and will include information on estimated grant and other funding together with the formula funding.

Agreed at the October 2019 Schools Forum. The
minutes to the October 2019 Schools Forum provide the agreed rates for Trade Union, School Improvement Group and Redundancy for Schools in Deficit. All
Schools Forum Minutes are available on CMIS (the minutes are published in the papers of the following meeting, so October's minutes are in the December meeting documents).

The early years budgets shown by setting are indicative based mainly on the Summer 2018 headcount. Please take a copy of the budget tool statement for your setting and update the hours with your own forecasts to improve the accuracy of your estimated budget for 2019 to 2020.
Primary, secondary school, and academy indicative budgets for 2019 to 2020
The indicative budgets include information on grants and funding together with the formula funding. The indicative information is based on 2018 to 2019 information and is meant as a guide to help the budget setting process. Where better local information on pupil numbers or updates to high needs funding exists, the budget should be amended to reflect a school's more up-to-date information.
A number of schools and academies have asked how the prior attainment part of their formula funding is calculated. We have produced a PowerPoint slide to give an example:
For academies, the information on place funding to be received direct from the ESFA is not included in the above indicative budget but will be shown on your GAG statements.
2019 to 2020 special schools budget
The Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG)budget for special schools is published below. This includes an indicative figure for the top up. The top up shown is the matrix* based top up, which is updated twice per year, based on September and January returns. The place funding shown is fixed, based on the places in the September matrix return from the prior year, and does not change once set.
*Work on the move to a RAS based top up system is still under way and will be shared with special schools as soon as possible. The planned RAS funding (replacing matrix top up funding)introduction date is September 2019.
This budget information does not include other grants such as pupil premium grant or capital grants.
School formula budgets for 2019 to 2020
The results of the schools funding consultation 2019 to 2020 have been fed back to Schools Forum in December 2018. Please see the
Schools Forum page of the Committee website, agenda item 6a. The budget setting process is underway and further information was taken to the Schools Forum meeting on 17 January 2019 (Agenda Item 8).
The government's schools funding formula tool was submitted on 21 January 2019 and, once reviewed and signed off by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), we will then publish here.

The Primary and Secondary budget tool now includes indicative information. The indicative information includes: SEN Unit funding, Sixth Form Funding, Devolved Formula Capital (DFC), Pupil Premium grant (based on 2017 to 2018 allocation), Growth Funding and Early Years Funding Formula estimates.
