Consultation on proposed admissions arrangements for September 2021

All admission authorities are required to formally consult if they want to make any changes to their schools' admission arrangements for the following school year. They also have to consult on their admission arrangements at least once every 7 years, even if there have been no changes during that period.

Northamptonshire County Council co-ordinates the annual admissions consultation on behalf of all schools in the county, regardless of who the admission authority is. The aim of this consultation is to raise awareness of any proposed changes to admission arrangements and ensure that these are subject to appropriate consultation.

Proposed changes to school admission arrangements for 2021

For the 2021 intakes, the local authority is not proposing any changes to the admission arrangements for its schools. The Relevant Area for Northamptonshire County Council remains the same - the county of Northamptonshire and neighbouring local authorities.

For Academies, Free Schools and UTCs, the Academy Trust is the admission authority, whilst for Foundation and Voluntary Aided schools, the governing body is the admission authority. All schools in Northamptonshire are required to provide the local authority with their proposed admission arrangements for 2021.
