Children with an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan where the Academy is named in the plan will first be admitted.
Where applications for admission exceed the number of places available, priority for admission will be given in the following order:
- Looked after children and previously looked after children
- Children with an older brother or sister continuing at the school at the time of admission of the younger child
- Children who live closer to the preferred school than any other school
- Other children
Allocation of places up to published admission number (PAN)
If the PAN is exceeded within criterion 3, priority will be given to those who live furthest from the nearest alternative school. If the PAN is exceeded within any other criterion, priority will be given to those who live closest to the school.
Where there are two or more applications that cannot otherwise be separated, a randomiser will be used to decide who is allocated a place.
Distances are measured on a straight-line basis from the child’s home address to the address point of the school.
Where a child spends time with both parents or carers in separate homes and both have parental responsibility, "their normal family home" is where the majority of school nights (Sunday to Thursday) are spent.
