Service description:
Transition services for people facing challenging life transitions such as homelessness, leaving prison, moving from care to a first home, moving from a secure hospital or leaving the family.
Mayday inspires people to thrive by building on their talents and abilities -- not by focusing on their problems.
Mayday supports people through difficult life transitions whether they are coming out of prison, seeking to return to work after extended unemployment, moving out of homelessness, or young people leaving care. and any young person experincing tough times that may impact on their housing looking to prevent family breakdown.
Offers the right support at the right time. Often services don’t fit what individuals need. Our new way of working is about agreeing what works for each individual. Many organisations help people cope with their problems, but we find people achieve more when they explore their abilities and build on their strengths.
Offers opportunities and access to activities, as well as services. People who come to Mayday grow not only by receiving services, but also by using their abilities and talents to engage with their community, volunteer or be part of a team. At Mayday we have moved away from purely providing services to brokering opportunities and activities that spark and inspire the people who come to us.
