Service description:
These groups are for pre school families needing a more supportive environment and are open to families in the community regardless of their religion or cultural background. Often families are referred to us by professional bodies. A family lunch club is associated with Ladybirds. Our employed cook and her volunteers prepare and serve a hot nutritious, two course meal. This gives the families a chance to enjoy the social aspects of sitting round a table and sharing a meal together with other people.
Jolly Tots.
This is a group for all those caring for pre school children. It's a place where you and your children can have fun, feel safe and make new friendships. Whilst Jolly Tots is not exclusively for active Christian families it is run by Church Members and other volunteers within a Christian environment. There are two groups that meet on alternate weeks and many of the families stay on for our Wednesday Open House snacks and lunch.
Music sessions for the under 5s.
These involve singing, dancing, movement and signing with the aim of encouraging confidence and language skills as well as enjoying activity and movement.
The Toy Library.
A full range of educational toys and games are available for members to borrow (for a small fee). The Toy Library runs concurrently with Jollytots on Wednesday mornings and the Baby Clinic on Monday afternoons. AAURC is a member of the National Association of Toy & Leisure Libraries.
My Space.
This is for parents whose children have just started school. The sessions aim to build confidence and parenting skills through talks, activities and support networks.
