The Empowering Councillors and Communities Scheme is a scheme which grants a small amount of funding a year to each of Northamptonshire County Council’s 57 councillors to spend within their electoral division.
Funding for local people and the community
Councillors can fund large or small schemes of benefit to local people and the local community. For example, your councillor could give money towards:
- new playground equipment for a local park
- a disabled access ramp for a community centre
- or even pay for coach hire for a day out for elderly residents
How do you apply for funding?
You can apply for funding through your County Councillor if you are an organisation with its own bank account and which is a not for dividend organisation or business.
Examples of organisations eligible for funding are:
- Residents' Associations
- Parish Councils
- Voluntary groups
- Charitable organisations
- Sports clubs
