Minerals and waste planning policy

Adopted Minerals and Waste Local Plan

The Minerals and Waste Local Plan is the plan for minerals and waste development across Northamptonshire and sets out strategy, policies and locations for this development to 2031.

Development and Implementation Principles SPD

The SPD provides guidance on waste minimisation and the provision of waste management facilities in new development, preventing land use conflict and catchment areas for waste management facilities.

Minerals and Waste Development Scheme

The Minerals and Waste Development Scheme (MWDS) set out the context, scope and timetable, for keeping the Minerals and Waste Local Plan up to date.

Statement of Community Involvement

The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) set out how the Council engages with the community in keeping its Minerals and Waste policies up to date.

Minerals and Waste Monitoring Reports

Every minerals and waste planning authority must prepare reports containing how it is progressing its most recent Minerals and Waste Development Scheme (MWDS) and the extent to which policies set out in adopted plans are being implemented.

Superseded minerals and waste documents

The Minerals and Waste Local Plan MWLP (Partial Review) and Minerals and Waste Development Framework (MWDF) were the adopted Minerals and Waste development plans for the county which have now been superseded.

East Midlands Aggregate Working Party (EMAWP)

The EMAWP provides technical advice to the Mineral Planning Authorities (MPAs) in the East Midlands about the supply and demand for aggregates. It brings together representatives from the aggregates, secondary aggregates and recycling industry and the MPAs.
