Duty and assessment is the single point of contact for all safeguarding concerns relating to children and young people in Northamptonshire.
Over the last few months we have been focussed on implementing an improvement plan and we are proud to say that not only has the quality of our services significantly improved but so has the working environment we offer our staff.
Three managed teams are supporting our service through improvement transition. These teams provide additional capacity, enabling the service to focus on achieving stability and delivering high quality social work practice. All our cases are now allocated promptly and social workers have manageable caseloads.
Now we have an attractive working environment we want to achieve stability within the team and move to a workforce of permanent professionals. We are focusing our efforts on building a strong team that is able to attend to and see children quickly, undertake quality direct work and assessments in a supportive environment with good quality management oversight and timely case progression. We are also supported by the Lincolnshire Partners in Practice who have a reputation for excellence and innovative service delivery.
Social workers and managers in the duty and assessment team share knowledge and build a learning culture that promotes strong working relationships and improvement in the quality of front-line practice. The service benefits from excellent family support workers and business support that all work together to deliver better services and improve outcomes for children.
We are now seeking experienced and professional social workers, consultant practitioners and team mangers to join our team on a permanent basis as we enter the next exciting phase of our improvement journey.
What does the job involve?
To deliver and provide social work services, at a level appropriate for a professionally qualified post, to young people and families to ensure the welfare of children and young people is safeguarded and they are protected in accordance with the legal and statutory obligations of Northamptonshire County Council.
