Digital book club

Rediscover reading with the Library Plus digital book club.

On 1 November 2020 Northamptonshire Libraries launched their digital book club. Each month a different book will be selected and conversations about the book will take place throughout the month on the For the Love of Book Facebook page.

All the books chosen will be available to borrow through the libraries e-lending providers.

October 2021's bookKlara and the Sun book cover

This month's digital book club title, “Klara and the Sun” by Kazuo Ishiguro, is also the chosen book for Libby by Overdrive’s national book club, Together We Read.

From her place in the store, Klara, an Artificial Friend with outstanding observational qualities, watches carefully the behaviour of those who come in to browse, and of those who pass in the street outside. She remains hopeful a customer will soon choose her, but when the possibility emerges that her circumstances may change for ever, Klara is warned not to invest too much in the promises of humans.

"Klara and the Sun" is available on Libby as an eBook and eAudiobook, with no waiting.
