Exploring the possibilities of the Internet of Things was the focus of Digital Northampton’s first Early Bird event on Friday (8 March).
The session, held at Northamptonshire County Council’s One Angel Square, brought together the town’s digital talent with people interested in seeing how IOT technology can be used in their sector.
Iris IOT director Stephen Westley’s presentation showed the ways this new technology can help improve employee wellbeing and productivity.
What is Digital Northampton?
Digital Northampton is a collaboration between the University of Northampton, Northamptonshire County Council and local digital businesses designed to support digital innovation in and around Northampton.
So far Digital Northampton has started to create links between technology companies working in all aspects of the sector including virtual reality, artificial intelligence, the internet of things, gaming, robotics and animation.
On Friday 14 June, a one-day event will focus on the digital talent on offer in Northampton and how it can be harnessed to bring wider benefits to the county.
Long-term, the desire is to create a digital hub – a building dedicated to digital innovation to allow close collaboration and information-sharing.
